在昨天《幣訊》報導 Craig Wright 入紙美國著作權局宣告比特幣白皮書及其早期代碼的版權後，Wright 藉此向外界宣佈此版權註冊代表美國政府官方證明了他就是比特幣（Bitcoin，BTC）的創始人中本聰（Satoshi Nakamoto）。
現時，根據《金融時報》報導，美國著作權局已經發表聲明，指出它們並未確定或承認 Wright 的註冊是否有效，局方指這並不是其原有目的。
聲明指，局方不會探討版權註冊上所作出的資料是否正確，在該註冊受到質疑時，則會將有關指控帶入法庭解決，而局方的聲明與網民於昨天討論的結果幾乎一致。
Wright 正是透過此版權註冊程序，聲稱自己為比特幣創始人，而任何人只要花費 55 美元註冊版權，則可有同樣效果。
比特幣 SV（Bitcoin SV，BSV）現時價位處於 100 美元邊緣。

When the Copyright Office receives an application for registration, the claimant certifies as to the truth of the statements made in the submitted materials. The Copyright Office does not investigate the truth of any statement made… A registration represents a claim to an interest in a work protected by copyright law, not a determination of the truth of the claims therein. It is possible for multiple, adverse claims to be registered at the Copyright Office. The Copyright Office does not have an opposition procedure for copyright registrations, such as the procedures available at the Patent and Trademark Office for patents and trademark registrations. Disputes over the claims in a registration may be heard before federal courts, including disputes over authorship of a work.
